Yesterday the garage door was left open. It was not I that left it open. I have left it open in the past but never for very long. I will not point fingers at the individual that left it open. There are three of us that live in this lovely home with a two car garage with no room for a bicycle let alone a car. One individual that lives here is on vacation in another state and I who live here did not leave it open. Do the math.
So wonderful hubby is working frantically y in the garage around his workbench. I ask him, "What's up?" and he replies, "I'm trying to get this snake out of the garage."
Okay back inside the house for me. We have black racers (biguns) that visit occasionally but they usually stay on the patio or in the lanai. The garage is just way too close to my living space to feel comfortable.
Do we know if Mr. Black Racer has left the premises? No. Did I sleep last night? No. I had nightmares about him sneaking through he dog door sliding right past the sleeping dog and slip beneath my closed bedroom door. I then had a vision of him slinking up into my bed and sucking out all of my blood. Wait that would be a vampire. Whatever!
I vow to never set foot in the garage again. How the laundry will get done is beyond me. I am terrified of snakes and now there is one lurking in my home.
Life is like riding a bicycle. When you fall off - cry with humiliation then get back on. Ride with the winds of passion as your tattered sails.

Web of Terror
My biggest fear in life is - snakes. I see one and then go straight to the panic mode. I am unable to get over my fear - or total terror. My second critter fear is spiders. They creep me out, especially the big ones.
We have two medium size spiders playing dead at the bottom of the pool. I know they are faking it because if I were to go in the water they would attack me - for sure. I don't care that they have been hanging out in the same place for three days. They are stalking me!
This morning I walk to the pool thinking about taking a quick dip, although it is raining and I could get wet? There is this spidersaurus swimming in the pool. He's huge!!! He's alive!!!
Scratch that idea of taking an early morning dip. What scares me more is taking an evening dip and not properly checking out the wild waters. I will search the depths with a flashlight before I enter the waters next time.

Snakes in Florida
The pool is sitting there - all bright, pretty and very very blue. The next task of filling her with water looms over us. I see $ signs. I was hoping for lots of rain but we have only received a small shower. So there is about 2 inches of water surrounding the drain in the bottom.
Yesterday I stepped outside into the sunshine and surveyed my empty pool when movement caught my eye. It was black and long and slithering along the bottom of the empty pool. It looked to be a black racer. Harmless - but I have a terror of snakes.
I grabbed the camera and stepped slowly and cautiously into the bright blue waterless pool. I guess the big guy felt cornered as he raised his head up and looked like he was going to leap at me. Okay, do I really want his picture? I climbed out of the pool and leaned over the edge. He reared his head again. Truly not a happy camper having his photo taken in a dry pool.
I snapped a few shots and then called for back-up to remove him from his hell. My trust Knight in Shiny Armour scooped him up with the long handled butterfly net and returned him to the wilds of my backyard.
I wondered if he was traumatized or this was just another day in the life of a black racer?
