To Kill a Mockingbird

Nicholas Lemmon Lindsey a 16 year old juvenile from St. Petersburg, Florida was arrested for the murder of police officer David Crawford.
My thoughts:
What is a 16 year old doing wandering the streets late at night on a school night? Where were his parents? Was he out of control? Did the parents seek help or were they overwhelmed?

Is this student just one of the many that fall through the cracks into the great dark abyss? We say we put children first - but do we really? Do we help and guide these lost souls or toss them to the trash? Whose responsibility is it to raise children?

I could be judgemental and make all sorts of remarks ----- like where was the supervision ------ by viewing the video I presume he's just another thug or wanna be thug. He was dressed in the black hoodie (in Florida) the pants were hanging down to his ankles with the all too frequently seen boxers taking center stage. Flip flops and white socks. He would never make the cover to GQ. But he has made the cover of the St. Petersburg Times as a murderer. He is 16. He killed a cop but presumed innocent till proven guilty - although he did confess.

Where have we gone so terribly wrong? We seem to be a broken community in need of a complete overhaul. Our budget is in tatters - so where do we go from here?

Where is Caylee?

Through our minds, hearts and eyes and that of the media WE the People have tried, convicted and sentenced Casey Anthony for the crime of murder. Not just any murder - but that of murdering her child. We have not an ounce of sympathy for her or her parents. What must the grandparents be going through? A hell on earth!
They stand by their daughter steadfastly. What would you do? What if this were your child being accused of this heinous crime? Would you throw them to the wolves or support them? Such a precarious position to be placed in while the rest of the world is against you.
Ignoring all the lies and deceit I wanted this child to be found alive. Still, in the back recesses of my mind I am hoping she is alive and this is not her remains found dumped in the woods. Statistics say... point the finger to the parents but....what if? If we had to walk even a block in George and Cindy's footsteps what would we feel? Where would our thoughts be?
I feel so much pain for the entire family. They love their daughter and grandchild but now both of them have been ripped from their arms. I watch people on the news shows screaming at them as if it were also their crime. Unfortunately, it is or will be their crime for eternity.
I would absolutely not want to trade places with these distraught grandparents for anything. Their world has collapsed and they are trapped forever in this limbo-hell. I believe they will never accept the probably true fact that their child committed a horrible act.
I still have this tiny glimmer of hope (that is fading fast) that Caylee may still be alive.
I watched a program on the Eisenberg case a few nights ago - another Florida tragedy. Another child missing - this one never found. Her parents accused of the crime with the stigma forever molded to their lives. We also tried and convicted them through the media.
Why do we do this?

They're out there, I see them everywhere - at my work, in the store, in my neighborhood, driving down the road and a few are my friends. STUPID PEOPLE. There everywhere. I read this story about some lady - I forgot where she lived. She advertised on Craig's List for a Hit Man. Yes, an advertisement on the Internet. Hello - does the elevator stop short from the top floor? I believe it was advertised as a 'freelance' position'. Three people responded.

They all turned her in when they realised what she really wanted - her married lovers' wife knocked off not a 1,000 words knocked out. She met this wonderful lover online. She must have some Internet savvy if she can pick up deadbeats online - so why would she conspire to eliminate a person over the Internet? She wins the 'MOSTEST STUPIDEST AWARD'.

Emails are track able, your IP address is track able and murder for hire is illegal. Talk about leaving a trail to follow - she wins another award for that one. Discreet she was not, then I don't think stupid people know how to be discreet. And the pay was really low. LOL. As many jobs are from Craig's List, at least she got that part correct. And why would she list the proposed job under freelance writing? Did she want the lover murdered with a pencil? Or bad grammar? Or too many -----------(hyphens).

I will continue to read about this saga to see what she pleas. Is there a plea for STUPIDITY? Her shirt should say "I'm not with stupid I am Stupid". A quote from Forrest Gump - "Stupid is as Stupid does", I think that's what he said.
