I'll get you and your little dog to

When my life spirals out of control I have what I refer to as my 'vehicle' dreams. It's a dream about some type of vehicle and it is usually operated by me and totally out of control or on some collision path with disaster. I am constantly trying to figure out the meaning or underlying psychosis of my dreams.

I've read that it's not the dream but the repetitive theme of one's dreams. Cars or vehicles represent your life and when they are out of control so is your life. And with me that usually is the case and I begin trying to get my life back on track and rolling smoothly or at least with fewer bumps and road blocks.

Lately, I've been having dog dreams. Like my 100 pound shepard lying on the ever so skinny window ledge staring at me. As I look at him and wonder how did he ever jump that high with his bad hips and how did he get out of the fence? At that very instant with our stares being locked I wake up and there is the old boy staring at me through the sliding glass doors of the bedroom. Creepy at best.

The next night another bizarre dream about the Ronster Man. Last night was a little different - still a dog dream but not about my dog. My mind is working furiously this morning with an extra cup of coffee to see the correlation between my dog dreams. Are the dog dreams taking over for my vehicle dreams?

Life is spinning as usual, stress is precariously high, finances are shriveling and add the economic doom to my already floundering insecurities and I end up - just a mess. 'Going to hell in a hand basket'. Not quite sure the interpretation of that phrase but pretty sure I am edging toward that hand basket. Perhaps it is a hot air balloon basket and it will be uplifting and enjoying. Focus on the positive!!! Somewhere over the rainbow.....

My name is might-have been, I am also called no-more too-late - farewell. D. G. Rossetti.

At first this poetic piece seems to be overloaded with negativity, gloom and doom but I see it through my rose clouded glasses as an inspiration to keep my chin up and plod forward to my destination. This morning my destination is work and watching the hatchet fall. Ouch - maybe it won't be me. Rephrase that - It will not be me. Follow, follow, follow, follow - follow the yellow brick road. And the entire time Toto will be at my feet.

The Eating Machine

We've moved past the eating of the Easter bread and have turned a corner. What goes on in this dog's mind makes me wonder. Wonder why we keep him.
We have to barricade the sofa every time we leave the house because the sneak likes to nap on the couch even though he has a nice comfy dog bed. And we can always tell from the huge amounts of dog hair he leaves behind on the sofa. Then, there's the bed! We have to shut the bedroom door when we leave or even go outside. His other fun stuff to do is roll around on our bed. I guess he is adding his scent to our love nest. LOL.
Yesterday, he outdid himself when he took the new bar of soap right out of the soap dish and ate 3/4 of the green Irish Spring soap. I hope he poops green. We found the soap remains hidden in the garage to conceal his crime. There is nothing sacred in this house around him.
I watched the Dog Whisperer last night and he solved an owners dog problem. The cute little dog ate stuff including poop. Oh, Cesar - I need your help with this untamed critter.

Territorial Terror

We own or are owned by a 100 pound German Shepard. He is not Mr. Nice Guy. He loves his family - I think. Strangers and certain people he has an automatic dislike bulb that goes off in his pea brain. He's not the best behaved canine in the neighborhood. He hates other dogs and cats but co-exists with our cat. We have signs posted on all sides of our fence to warn intruders or others.

Big boy is never left outside unattended. I know his temperament and watch him carefully. Most of the time he is well behaved but you never know.

We were walking the big bruiser last night and when we arrived at our yard we let him off the leash. He likes to do his business in the front yard. Whatever?

Across the street two salesmen going door to door (what a horrible job) and they started to approach our house. Very politely I stated, "Please do not come in our yard. The dog is not friendly."

So is that a simple easy statement? I thought so. The one man started right toward our driveway and said, "I've been trained with dogs."

Not his dog. At this point in time I was a bit annoyed. I reiterated my statement. "Please do not come in my yard. This dog is not friendly."

Hello, what don't you understand? The man mumbled something and kept moving towards us. Hubby grabbed big boy and took him inside without his business being completed. Now, I am in total annoyance with salespeople.

I stated perhaps a little louder since he did not understand my pleasant talk. "Do not come in our yard."

Finally he walked away. This is my home, my yard and my domain. When I tell you to get lost please abide by my wishes. They were selling home security. LOL. I have my own and he weighs 100 pounds.
